Linda de Vries - Associate

Debbie Pearmain - Associate

Debbie Pearmain is an independent legal consultant. She has more than 20 years of wide ranging, legal working experience in the private and public health sectors in South Africa.

Her qualifications are BA and LLB degrees from WITS and a doctorate in law from the University of Pretoria. Her areas of legal expertise include constitutional law, law of contract, law of delict, intellectual property law, and administrative law. In addition she drafted various legislation and regulations including the National Health Act, the Traditional Health Practitioners Act and the Medicines Pricing Regulations under the Medicines and Related Substances Control Act.

She is the South African expert on the law of medical schemes in South Africa and has written a textbook for use by principal officers, brokers, boards of trustees and other stakeholders entitled “The Law of Medical Schemes in South Africa” published by Juta. She also wrote together with Professor Pieter Carstens of the University of Pretoria a legal textbook entitled Foundational Principles of South African Medical Law, published by LexisNexis.

Debbie has at various times served by Ministerial appointment on the Council for Medical Schemes, the Medicines Pricing Committee, the National Research Ethics Council and the Ministerial Advisory Committee on National Health Insurance.

Ency Litsoane - Associate

Life began for Ency (Samkelisiwe) in Swaziland. She came to South Africa in 1993 to further her studies in Midwifery, Psychiatry, Nursing and Community Development.

On her journey to empower and educate herself, she realized that although the investment in herself was worthwhile and could be measured by the accumulated certificates she was acquiring… her wallet was not reflecting this and was being depleted and looking rather lean. Never minimizing the value of education, she realized that she wanted more and wanted to make a difference... and believed money could be part of that equation.

Working since 2001 in the DIRECT SELLING INDUSTRY through the network marketing channel, has given Ency new direction, making her break out the box and face the challenge of a bigger world. Marion Stone - Associate

Marion is an experienced independent performance consultant that assists small and medium sized organisations to reach their goals by unlocking the motivation and performance of their employees. She believes in building connections between people and the organisation and her consultancy, Cornerstone Connections, offers performance consulting, facilitation and training that builds high performance.

Her key focus areas include creating performance management processes that drive engagement and business results, developing managers out of technical specialists, facilitating teams to high performance and implementing behavioural feedback processes. At the start of her career, Marion worked as a process engineer within the manufacturing sector, but her interest in people led her into a technical training role. Her work then expanded to include developing organisational development solutions that improve performance.

Emerging from her diverse background is a practical approach and a real commitment to making a difference to individuals and the business. She has worked in South Africa, UK and Europe as a manager and a consultant in various business sectors from manufacturing to financial services. Her articles appear in HR publications and she regularly presents topics at the Chamber of Commerce and other industry organisations.

Marion holds a first degree in chemistry (UCT) and an M.Sc. in Strategic Training and Development (University of Surrey Roehampton). She is accredited by the South African Board for People Practices as a Chartered HR Practitioner.

A simple one page strategic plan executed through an on-line performance management system

ec@ps is delivered in a practical interactive session that produces a One Page Strategic Plan, together with supportive Individual Performance Plans. The web based execution system ensures the process is monitored and results are achieved. Any existing Strategic Plan or Balanced Scorecard can be incorporated into the ec@ps model with ease.

In addition ec@ps provides an on-line performance management system that allows for electronic job descriptions that focus on key performance areas and success measures. The tool allows for setting appraisal periods, monthly self-performance monitoring and an effective electronic formal appraisal process with reporting capabilities.
